Who is the best?

We very often find ourselves trying to fit in and wanting to be accepted by people, therefore we strive to be the best that we can when operating in our gifts.  After all, who wants to be the last one picked for the team, or the one that gets bullied in school, or the kid that everyone runs from because someone yelled "koodies".

When we finally come to know Christ, become joined to a particular local assembly and begin operating in the gifts that He give us, we expect the body of Christ to be far removed from the mindset of those from our childhood days. However many of us experience those same rejections in the body of Christ if our gifts do not meet the standards of  many of those in the "church" who make the determination of whose gifts are or are not the best.

Being the best is a difficult title to achieve especially when there is always going to be someone who is better than us in some way, shape or form. Perhaps understanding that the next great sensation may be currently sitting on a bar stool, or smoking a "blunt" should cause us to realize that it is the Lord who gives us the gifts and works them within us serverally as He will. After all, that is where He found many of us. Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. We are not our own, we have been bought with a price and it was our Lord Jesus who paid the price for our gifts with His life.

We have been on Destiny's road for many years and have seen some that men have considered the greatest gifts to the body of Christ and some that men have considered the least.  However when the Lord rewards us according to the gifts that He has given us, we will all recieve the same reward and none of us will be able to cast a vote.  And yet, when the Lord rewards us according to how much we have loved HIM, we will all recieve differently.  Those that have loved Him the more will recieve the greater reward.

Isn't it funny how it was very often that child in school that was the last one picked for the team, or the one that was ostracized over "koodies" that had the greatest ability to love.

We determine who is the best by the gift, but the Lord determines who is the best by love.

There is a song written by Damon Wilson (DNA Music Productions) that will be on our upcoming project "Destiny" called "Destination Anywhere".  It is one of our favorite songs on this project because he really captured the struggle that Ministree has faced while on the road to where ever the Lord is leading us.  One of the verses say, " As we travel we must be aware that the enemy has set traps and snares, his assignment is to interupt and sabbatoge the plan God has set up, uturns, one ways, detours just to keep us from walking through the open doors, but everytime the enemy says no, God will always have the last say so".

We began working on this new project in December of 2008 after our Stellar Nomination in 2008.  During this time it has seemed that the devil has placed every road block imaginable in our way to attempt to keep the project from its completion.  What started out as being the "Predestined" project which was the project that we planned to release for the past two years now, had to be left behind and replaced by a new project called "Destiny".

This change to us was simply the Lord making a statement in allowing the events occuring around the release of this project to be one of the most difficult trials that we have faced in our years of singing together. In the midst of working on the project we experienced personal trials, losses, attacks and even the loss of our home church in a storm. And yet, we have learned through the word of God, that when the Lord has Destiny for you, it won't be easy to achieve. How could we have expected it to be after all, destiny's road is a perilous road to travel.  God's word says I returned, and saw under  the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. Meaning, it is this type that makes it to their destination by chance and not "By The Grace of God".

We encourage all who may be going through, all who may want to give up and throw in the towel to stay the course and finish the race.  When there is purpose and destiny on your life, expect tribulation. But know that tribulation worketh patience, patience experience and experience hope and hope makes us not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

On Destiny's Road

It has been nearly 30 years since the Lord brought us together as a "group".  Back then we knew that singing together was our destiny, but at that time we didn't understand that destiny is a process.  Being on  destiny's road has been a blessing, a challenge and often full of hurts, disappointments, and triumphs. But the on thing that we thank God for is His word that was instilled in us by our pastors, parents and spiritual parents, Rev. Melvin and Geraldine Wilson.  If it wasn't for them teaching us how to live a life led by the Holy Ghost, we surely would not have made it this far.

We are happy to have an avenue to share our story to those who want to get a better understanding of Ministree and what it is that the Lord is doing in and through this ministry.  Singers and bands are a dime a dozen and there is nothing that makes us greater than any other artist out there, however the bible says let he who is greatest among you, serve.  We have faithly served for 36 years at our home church, St. John Bible Center and will continue to do so.  And we are excited about this next assignment of serving the nations as well as we travel on the road to our Destiny.
